Last weekend the Younger Generation Church host worship leader Kristian Stanfill to cap off the GODencounters conference. The concert was out of this world amazing, and also was the culmination of a lot of hard work by myself(Stephen Ellis) and my brother Christopher Ellis. We are part-time light designers/programmers and we volunteer at The Arlington Seventh-Day Adventist Church. So enjoy the pictures and the video of the concert.
In Concert at Opening Bell Sept. 22
Mathis Grey is a 28 year old singer/songwriter from Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He has been writing, recording and performing for over 10 years. His sound is a folk rock/acoustic rock style with a sprinkle of soul mixed in. His hopes are to branch out of his home town and play his music for other audiences around the country.
Mathis Grey’s style is very unique. His vocals and his guitar playing create a definite coffee house feel allowing the audience to emerge themselves in his music in real time. His music is smooth, yet rugged – heavy , yet weightless…this is Mathis Grey.
His new single, “Daydreams”, is off of his new CD, “Two Steps From The Road”. He wrote this song about dreaming and says even if you are day dreaming some of what you dream is real, so go ahead and dream. This CD is going to have a lot of songs about leaving home, leaving people along, and breaking up – but definitely has up beat tunes. As Mathis grows and evolves, so will his music. His music portrays his life and it is wonderful to listen to.
Author and international evangelist, Dr. Matthew Gamble will be featured for the 2011 GODencounters Conference, September 15-17, at the Arlington Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4409 Pleasantview Drive, Arlington, TX 76017. Matthew Gamble was born and raised Catholic but became an atheist at the age of 14. It was shortly after this time that God lead him to a Christian pastor who, after hearing his story, handed him a Bible. As Matthew began exploring the teachings of Jesus, his life began to be transformed from inside out.
Joining Dr. Gamble will be an array of notable worship leaders including Elia King, Maria Long, Kristian Stanfill, and the Younger Generation Band. Culminating the conference, recording artist, Kristian Stanfill will be live in concert, Saturday evening. Doors open at 6:30 PM.
